Founded in 1986, The Ronald McDonald House of Scranton serves the families of children who are hospitalized here in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Distracted and amused by television, games books, a relaxing back porch and a cozy playroom overflowing with toys, guests enjoy a safe quiet place to recover from the day's emotional trials.
A beautiful newly renovated building with a new addition, nestled in the charming Hill-Section of Scranton, the house has and elevator, six second-floor bedrooms of various sizes, and two handicapped accessible bedrooms, on the first floor. Each bedroom has wirelss internet access, an individual telephone line and long-distance calling cards are provided compliments of our wonderful donors.
All of the bedrooms have private bathrooms with showers and are complete with toiletries. Although clean linens are provided by the house, laundry facilities are available on the premises free of charge.
Guests are encouraged to take advantage of our fully stocked kitchen, helping themselves to groceries and preparing their own meals.
To keep busy, guests and their children often play in the yard or walk up the street to visit historic Nay Aug Park and The Everhart Museum
